Resource Center

Dedicated to the memory of
Solomon F. Davis . . .
teacher, scholar, friend.

Welcome to the Solomon F. Davis Resource Center. Dedicated to the memory of Solomon F. Davis, Ph.D. (1946-1998), the Center opened its doors to the academic community in September, 2001.

"Solomon"--to his friends and colleagues--obtained his doctorate in medical sociology at UCSF in 1989. His interests drew him to the field of aging and, in 1993, Solomon was awarded an NIA/PEW Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Institute for Health & Aging. During his career, he conducted research in the areas of health & aging policy, disability, political sociology, minority aging, and sociology of work, among others.

Those who knew Solomon characterized him as a hard-working researcher and excellent teacher. He was committed to social justice, loved to read, and had an insatiable appetite for knowledge. We are honored to dedicate our resource center to his legacy.
